This is an antique (c. 1920's) Japanese flower vase in the satsuma art style. The one side of this vase raised relief art work of a scenic design featuring a group of four women wearing kimono standing in a garden and the other side has a scenic design. The body of the vase, not covered by the pictures, is a dark blue color with gold accents. There is an artist's signature on the bottom of the vase.
Having been used lovingly for nearly a century, and mostly kept in storage, they remain in fine condition. The vase measures 7 1/2" in diameter at its widest by 12 1/4" tall (19 x 31 cm). The mouth opening measures approximately 3" wide (7.5 cm). A beautiful and functional piece of art!
