This brown men's juban features a dragon in the clouds above the ocean. The fabric pattern is comprised of lyrics from noh performances (traditional Japanese plays, similar but opposite in style to kabuki).

Each dot by the character shows each syllable, and it's sometimes used to extend or shorten the pronunciation of words. This pattern is also a more modern rendition of noh lyric sheets, as they traditionally were written only in Chinese characters, whereas this uses modern Japanese text (hiragana) in addition to Chinese characters (kanji).

A juban is underwear to be worn underneath a kimono, in order to protect the kimono from the wearer.
